Privacy Policy

At HopPlotter, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we may collect, how we may use this information and when (under certain circumstances) we may disclose this information. Please read our Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using any of our Services: https://www.hopplotter.com/terms

By accessing or using the App or Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. HopPlotter may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes to the policy by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your HopPlotter account and/or by placing a notice in our App. We strongly encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy in order to remain informed as to how we collect, use and disclose personally identifiable information. By continuing to use the App and the Services, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and any updates.

  1. Information Collection

Here's what we collect from you when you use the App and Services:

    1. User Provided Account Information

When you create an account with HopPlotter, you may be required to provide certain information, such as as your name, password and email address. This may be considered “personally identifiable information”, information that would allow us to directly identify or contact you.

    2. Automatically Collected Information

Some Services, such as search and the creation of itineraries that may not be retrieved, do not require registration. In such cases, our servers may automatically record information that your browser or device sends when you use the App. This information may include, but is not limited to, your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, mobile device type and operating system, the web page you were visiting before you came to our website and information you search for in our App. Like many websites, we also use “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. In order to save your username and password for future logins to the website, we use “persistent cookies”. For the purpose of enabling certain features of the website, to better understand how you interact with the App and to monitor usage and web traffic routing on the App, we use “session ID cookies”. You have the option to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting cookies from websites you visit by changing your browser options. However, you may not be able to use all portions of the App or utilize the Services to their fullest extent.

    3. Location Information

At certain times while using the App, you may be asked to share your device's or computer's location with the App in order to improve your experience with the Services. You have the option to decline this permission or stop sharing your location at any time, through your browser or device settings. If you do choose to share your location with HopPlotter, it may be automatically recorded by our servers for logging purposes.

    4. Payment Information

If you initiate a transaction through the Service, such as a HopPlotter Premium membership purchase, we may collect and store some of your payment information. Only non-sensitive information will be stored, such as the last four (4) digits of your credit card number and the credit card expiration date, for the purpose of logging charges and identifying forms of payment, or to allow for automatic membership renewal in the case that you have opted into such a service. No sensitive credit card data will be stored on HopPlotter’s servers, or shared with anyone, with the exception of our third-party payment platform, Square. For more information, refer to the Payment section below.

  2. How we Use your Information

HopPlotter may use the information you provide or that we collect to improve, support and maintain our App, Services, features and content and to develop our marketing strategy and other technologies. We may also use the data to develop new products and services and to customize and target content that may be more interesting, relevant, or useful to you, including advertisements.

  3. Payment

HopPlotter uses the third-party payment platform, Square, via the Square Connect API, to process all credit and debit card transactions for your HopPlotter account. In doing so, your payment data, including sensitive credit card information, may be shared with Square. All such interactions will be made over a secure, encrypted SSL/TLS connection. By using HopPlotter and agreeing to the HopPlotter Terms, you also agree to be bound by Square’s Terms of Service: https://squareup.com/legal/ua
