Vocal Fry

A no-boil IPA, Vocal Fry is brewed with yet-to-be-named Experimental Hops still in development. Each batch release is brewed with a different combination of Experimental Hops along with some current market named hop varietals. No-boil IPA means the hops were not added while the wort was boiling, rather at 185 degrees. This lower temperature addition acts more similar to adding hops at flame-out by extracting less of the oils that create bitterness and instead pulling out more aroma and flavor - citrus fruits, blooming flowers. Our passion for sours started with Grapfruit Sour (GFS). From Batch 1 through Batck X, GFS evolved and took on a personality of it's own. We aged four of those batches in bourbon barrels for a maximum of three years and blended them back together to bottle condition.
