BEER LIST
Big Red Coq
Style: Red Ale - American Amber / Red
ABV: 6.0%
# Ratings: 20,801
Score: 3.72
Expect hints of mango, pineapple and citrus to hit your nose with an assertive hop presence. Named lovingly after our mascot, BRC is an American-Belgian fusion of beer styles featuring imported Belgian caramel malts and slapping it with a heavy handed dose of American hops.
Zaison
Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison
ABV: 9.3%
# Ratings: 7,445
Score: 3.80
Zaison takes its inspiration from the famous Saison style of beer madein the southern region of Belgium. Traditionally this beer is made in the coolness of the winter months to be enjoyed in the Spring and Summer. Our special yeast strain gives this beer a little funkiness and is accented with tellicherry black peppercorns and orange peel. At 9% abv this is probably one of the strongest summer beers you will encounter. The alcohol contributes to the flavor so who are we to try to reduce it? This is the strength the beer wanted to be, so we left it that way.
Hop Field
Style: IPA - American
ABV: 7.0%
# Ratings: 6,711
Score: 3.77
Our Farmhouse IPA is a celebration of native Michigan hops that we carefully selected to give juicy flavors reminiscent of pineapple, tangerine & pear. Our farmhouse yeast adds an additional layer of citrus character that blends beautifully with the toasted bread notes from the locally grown unmalted wheat used in the mash. We leave this beer rustic and unfiltered to maximize flavor.
Pumpkin Tart
Style: Pumpkin / Yam Beer
ABV: 7.0%
# Ratings: 5,390
Score: 3.65
Belgian brewers are inspired by their local agriculture. Living in the midst of a rich agricultural heritage our Vivant brewers find it quite natural to be inspired in this same way. A Michigan autumn heralds color tours, corn mazes and bountiful pumpkin harvests (4th in the nation, last we checked!). This rustic beer is fermented with real pumpkin and a hint of Fall spices. Our farmhouse yeast yields a delightful tartness that sets this pumpkin beer apart.

Farm Hand

ABV: 5.5%
# Ratings: 20,313
Score: 3.59
Rustic. Refreshing. Local. There was a time in old-world France when nearly every family farm had its own brewery. It was a necessary part of farm life to provide a ration of beer to the laborers, as beer was safer to drink than plain water. Farm Hand is our interpretation of what these rustic farmhouse beers must have been like. Brewed with Michigan-grown wheat, we leave this beer unfiltered and rustic to accent the natural lemon-citrus tartness from our fermentation process. This beer is easy drinking for any occasion, but reveals layers of complexity for those who wish to discover them.
Triomphe
Style: IPA - Belgian
ABV: 6.5%
IBUs: 47
# Ratings: 14,349
Score: 3.66
Triomphe is made with a classic Belgian style yeast strain that gives the complexity and slight sweetness you may expect from a Belgian style ale. The beer then reaches deeper providing a smack-down of American grown hops to turn the style on its head. It has a light caramel color, is strongly bitter with a fruity citrus aroma.
Undertaker
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
ABV: 6.7%
# Ratings: 13,034
Score: 3.67
Pours a sinister black and offers the palate roasted coffee notes, hints of black fruit dipped in chocolate, and a subtle smokiness.
Wizard Burial Ground
Style: Belgian Quadrupel
ABV: 10.0%
IBUs: 27
# Ratings: 10,194
Score: 4.13
Aged for 12+ months deep in the old gypsum mines south of town, this Belgian inspired quadrupel ale pours a deep amber. The big alcohol of the quad pulls notes of bourbon, vanilla and charcoal from the barrels and melds perfectly with the caramel richness.
Tart Side Of The Moon
Style: Stout - Imperial / Double
ABV: 9.5%
# Ratings: 9,881
Score: 3.79
Big chocolate roast malt paired with lush black cherry and soft acidity. We kettle-sour a portion of the mash to lend a slight tartness on the finish. Listen to the Lunatic.
Tropical Saison
Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison
ABV: 5.5%
# Ratings: 8,520
Score: 3.65
Pineapple & Mango saison. A slightly spicy character, light effervescence, and the addition of real pineapple & mango juice make this beer perfect for a Michigan summer. Citra hops add to the clean finish.
Contemplation
Style: Golden Ale
ABV: 7.0%
# Ratings: 6,732
Score: 3.65
Clover honey added during the boil contributes color and complexity but adds no sweetness to the beer as the sugars are broken down during fermentation. Look for whispers of apricot and nectarine on the palate, mixed with the floral aroma of the hops grown in northern Michigan.
Tree Bucket
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double
ABV: 9.5%
IBUs: 71
# Ratings: 6,320
Score: 3.96
Our brewers are slinging some serious hops into this Belgian inspired DIPA, which is why we initially named it "Trebuchet", the mediaeval French catapult pictured at right. We ran into a snafu with the name when we discovered another cool brewery in California already had it trademarked. Belgian candy sugar and the Ardennes yeast strain lend sweetness to this very, very hoppy beer. Tropical fruit-forward Citra hops, among others, give balance to the sweet profile and high ABV. The beer is babied in the fermentation tanks and dry hopped just before packaging.
Paris
Style: Sour - Other
ABV: 11.5%
# Ratings: 3,898
Score: 4.07
Paris is a bold saison spiced with orange peel and black peppercorns. It is then aged with wild yeast strains in red wine barrels for over a year, creating an oaky nose, bright fruit character, a tannic structure perfect for aging, and a solid smack of sour.
Plow Horse
Style: Stout - Other
ABV: 9.5%
# Ratings: 3,365

Belgian Style Imperial Stout
Solitude
Style: Belgian Dubbel
ABV: 6.0%
# Ratings: 3,170
Score: 3.56
Monks have been brewing beer in Belgium for centuries. Their beers have been some of the most sought after in the world. Solitude is made in the tradition of the famous brewing monks of the Abbeys of Belgium. This beer is deep mahogany in color, malt forward with hints of caramel, pear & raisin.
Angelina
Style: Sour - Flanders Oud Bruin
ABV: 8.5%
# Ratings: 3,067
Score: 4.03
Devastation
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double
ABV: 11.6%
# Ratings: 2,900
Score: 4.00
Bourbon barrel aged double IPA. Devastation is a curious experiment of what happens to hops when aged in wood. Tree Bucket, our Belgian inspired DIPA, is aged in freshly drained bourbon barrels until the balance of hops and wood is just right. This hedonistic pairing of huge mango aromas from Citra hops and rich vanillin from the charred wood will make you wonder why it's dark beers that get all the barrel time.
Pothole Stout
Style: Stout - Other
ABV: 6.3%
# Ratings: 2,811

A pint of this will help you cope with all those friggin potholes. We use some beans from local small-batch coffee roasters Rowster Coffee in this rich and chocolatey brew.
Vivant Tripel
Style: Belgian Tripel
ABV: 10.0%
# Ratings: 2,560

This classic style is what Belgian beer is all about, and brings out incredible complexity and subtleness from our house yeast strain. We make this once a year in the late winter, and savor every drop.
