BEER LIST
Big Red Coq
Style: Red Ale - American Amber / Red
ABV: 6.25%
# Ratings: 16,968
Score: 3.73
This red ale is all about hops. It is an American-Belgian fusion of beer styles taking imported Belgian caramel malts and slapping it with a heavy handed dose of American hops. Expect hints of mango, pineapple and citrus to hit your nose with an assertive hop presence. Currently a limited release available 4 times a year.
Farm Hand
Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 5.5%
# Ratings: 16,231
Score: 3.59
There was a time in old world France when nearly every family farm had a brewery. A necessary part of farm life was to provide a ration of beer to sustain and nourish the laborers, and beer was safer to drink than the water of the time. Farmhand is our interpretation of what these rustic beers must have been like. It is slightly cloudy from being made with raw un-malted grains and a simple single infusion of mash procedure.
Triomphe
Style: IPA - Belgian
ABV: 6.5%
IBUs: 47
# Ratings: 13,489
Score: 3.66
Triomphe is made with a classic Belgian style yeast strain that gives the complexity and slight sweetness you may expect from a Belgian style ale. The beer then reaches deeper providing a smack-down of American grown hops to turn the style on its head. It has a light caramel color, is strongly bitter with a fruity citrus aroma.
Undertaker
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
ABV: 6.7%
# Ratings: 11,883
Score: 3.67
Pours a sinister black and offers the palate roasted coffee notes, hints of black fruit dipped in chocolate, and a subtle smokiness.
Wizard Burial Ground
Style: Belgian Quad
ABV: 10.4%
IBUs: 27
# Ratings: 6,571
Score: 4.14
Aged for 12+ months deep in the old gypsum mines south of town, this Belgian inspired quadrupel ale pours a deep amber. The big alcohol of the quad pulls notes of bourbon, vanilla and charcoal from the barrels and melds perfectly with the caramel richness.
Escoffier
Style: American Wild Ale
ABV: 9.25%
# Ratings: 2,340
Score: 3.93
A collaboration with New Belgium Brewing. Bretta Ale. This beer was packaged with live yeast and will continue to develop and mature with time. Age for up to 5 years.
Devastation
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double
ABV: 11.6%
# Ratings: 2,306
Score: 4.01
Bourbon barrel aged double IPA. Devastation is a curious experiment of what happens to hops when aged in wood. Tree Bucket, our Belgian inspired DIPA, is aged in freshly drained bourbon barrels until the balance of hops and wood is just right. This hedonistic pairing of huge mango aromas from Citra hops and rich vanillin from the charred wood will make you wonder why it's dark beers that get all the barrel time.
Love Shadow
Style: Stout - American Imperial / Double
ABV: 11.7%
# Ratings: 1,744
Score: 4.14
Imperial stout aged in charred oak bourbon barrels.
Velvet Stud

Oat Stout

Dark, rich, and as you likely guessed by the name, made with oats. This limited release is balanced out with some subtle Strisselspalt hops.

The Grand Army IPA

We brewed this beer as a compliment to the fans Grand Rapids Football Club...Get after it: A spelt IPA is brewed with a blend of two distinct hops, Citra (also featured in BRC) and a new varietal, Melon. Big bitterness with flavors of lemon, pine, and mango intertwined in a spicy spelt malt base.
Tart Side Of The Moon
Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 9.5%
# Ratings: 6,936
Score: 3.80
Dark Farmhouse Ale Hearty dark ale fermented with a blend of two Belgian yeast strains. Upfront tartness followed by hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and black cherries.
Zaison
Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 10.3%
# Ratings: 6,548
Score: 3.81
Zaison takes its inspiration from the famous Saison style of beer madein the southern region of Belgium. Traditionally this beer is made in the coolness of the winter months to be enjoyed in the Spring and Summer. Our special yeast strain gives this beer a little funkiness and is accented with tellicherry black peppercorns and orange peel. At 9% abv this is probably one of the strongest summer beers you will encounter. The alcohol contributes to the flavor so who are we to try to reduce it? This is the strength the beer wanted to be, so we left it that way.
Tree Bucket
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double
ABV: 9.5%
IBUs: 71
# Ratings: 6,244
Score: 3.96
Our brewers are slinging some serious hops into this Belgian inspired DIPA, which is why we initially named it "Trebuchet", the mediaeval French catapult pictured at right. We ran into a snafu with the name when we discovered another cool brewery in California already had it trademarked. Belgian candy sugar and the Ardennes yeast strain lend sweetness to this very, very hoppy beer. Tropical fruit-forward Citra hops, among others, give balance to the sweet profile and high ABV. The beer is babied in the fermentation tanks and dry hopped just before packaging.
Tropical Saison
Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 5.5%
# Ratings: 5,725
Score: 3.68
Pineapple & Mango saison. A slightly spicy character, light effervescence, and the addition of real pineapple & mango juice make this beer perfect for a Michigan summer. Citra hops add to the clean finish.
Contemplation
Style: Golden Ale
ABV: 7.0%
# Ratings: 5,645
Score: 3.64
Clover honey added during the boil contributes color and complexity but adds no sweetness to the beer as the sugars are broken down during fermentation. Look for whispers of apricot and nectarine on the palate, mixed with the floral aroma of the hops grown in northern Michigan.
Pumpkin Tart
Style: Pumpkin / Yam Beer
ABV: 7.0%
# Ratings: 4,103
Score: 3.65
Belgian brewers are inspired by their local agriculture. Living in the midst of a rich agricultural heritage our Vivant brewers find it quite natural to be inspired in this same way. A Michigan autumn heralds color tours, corn mazes and bountiful pumpkin harvests (4th in the nation, last we checked!). This rustic beer is fermented with real pumpkin and a hint of Fall spices. Our farmhouse yeast yields a delightful tartness that sets this pumpkin beer apart.

Paris is a bold saison spiced with orange peel and black peppercorns. It is then aged with wild yeast strains in red wine barrels for over a year, creating an oaky nose, bright fruit character, a tannic structure perfect for aging, and a solid smack of sour.
